Our focus for this De Waterkant townhouse was to create a softer, more inviting space that flowed naturally from one room to the next.
We began with the lighting – redesigning the electrical layout and choosing fittings that would bring warmth and character to each room. The flooring was replaced throughout, and elements like the balustrades, doors, ironmongery, ceilings, skirtings and cornices were reworked to introduce a more cohesive architectural language.
Colour played an important role in reshaping the Townhouse Waterkant Street interiors and overall design aesthetic. We painted the ceilings in a soft pastel and kept the walls neutral to reflect light. New carpets in the bedrooms added comfort underfoot, and in the main bedroom, a custom-designed bed by Aura Interiors became the centrepiece.
In the living room, a custom floor-to-ceiling shelving unit was built to display books, objects and plants – and cleverly conceals a new integrated AC unit to keep the home cool in summer. A new freestanding pellet fireplace was also added, bringing warmth and atmosphere in winter.
To finish, we worked with Wunders to custom-make an L-shaped sofa, using a detailed layout to ensure a perfect fit. The result is a more considered interior that feels calm and inviting.
