As part of this De Waterkant townhouse renovation, the bathroom was designed to feel both luxurious and full of character – while remaining warm, welcoming and practical for everyday living.

Natural light was a key consideration. A fixed porthole was added to complement the existing horizontal window, bringing in more light and softening the space. Access was also reconfigured so that the bathroom now connects to the new dressing room, creating a master en suite with a second entrance for guests from the landing.

We chose a striking green onyx slab to clad the wall behind the bath and wrap around the shower. A detailed cutting list ensured none of the material went to waste. To balance the bold stone, we paired it with white pearlescent mosaics and large-format calacatta-look tiles in soft greys and whites – adding light, contrast and texture to the Townhouse Waterkant Street bathroom.

A custom oversized LED mirror with an off-centre double-circle design adds a sculptural touch above the modern double basin, while the bespoke floating oak-veneer vanity brings warmth and a natural finish to the room.

At the centre of the room, the round bath by Boutique Baths softens the room’s linear lines, while the freestanding bath column from Meir features a swivel spout that can be tucked out of the way when not in use.

From the layered tilework to the lighting and layout, every detail was carefully considered to create a space that feels calm, distinctive, and beautifully put together.
