With its high ceilings and solid wooden flooring, the beautiful House Nicol in Oranjezicht is filled with character.

The existing children’s bathroom was just a little too small for the client’s needs. We solved this problem by moving the adjacent bedroom door, creating room to move the bathroom door back a little and gaining much-needed space in the bathroom. The windows were replaced with clear glass and new security shutters.

In terms of finishes our clients like the warm feeling of timber, and we used predominately black and white hard finishes. We added colour with grey feature tiles in the separate WC area.

The new children’s bathroom has a freestanding Boutique bath and shower, an enclosed WC and a new custom vanity. We included a recessed storage shower niche in the existing double-brick wall.

We created as much integrated storage as possible and added a tall custom storage cabinet next to the wood veneer vanity in a contrasting finish.

The bespoke shaped mirrors create a softness and contrast the existing linear space. We also added unique bathroom-rated wall lights from Newport Lights.
