After having renovated all the bathrooms as well as converting the basement level to guest bedroom and kitchenette we were asked by our client to update the existing House Goetz kitchen.

The wanted to open it up to the living space as the existing kitchen window has a beautiful view and view and the existing architecture would be enhanced.

We consulted with an engineer and were advised that the dividing wall was not load bearing and thus could demolish it.

The existing timber flooring was revamped with bamboo flooring through out and we brought in similar finishes as we had done in the guest bedroom by combing oak veneer details with satin spray fronts.

All appliances were upgraded to Bosch and the new work tops to Pro Quartz. There are also many internal special features such as the magic corner unit by Le Mans and the our favorite the Euro Cargo pull out bin drawer.

The feature that we are so proud of as it’s the first time installed on African soil are the tiles we fitted as the splash back behind the oven, as they came all the way from Austria. They are so beautifully hand crafted by Karak and what makes it even more special is that I went to see their work shop near my parent’s home town Dornbirn as per the blog we posted last year.

So pleased to share the below thank you email from our client:

I’m so pleased with the renovations at the house. I very much appreciated Lisa’s responsiveness during the whole renovation period, in particular as I was abroad most of the time. Lisa’s team is very skilled and I’m impressed with the high quality of work. I wish I could spend more time in my now amazing Cape Town-house!
