House Canto is a modern home in Higgovale, and its family kitchen needed a complete revamp. We demolished the wall dividing the existing kitchen from the dining and living areas to create a more welcoming, open space. The goal was to draw as much natural light as possible from the open-plan areas into the kitchen, which originally had very little of its own. We received a very detailed and specific brief from our client, ensuring that their various activities, storage areas and appliances were perfectly accommodated.
For the House Canto Kitchen, we worked with simple, contemporary elements of the highest quality, including various Niemann German boards for the cabinetry, newly launched LED under-counter lighting and composite Caesarstone worktops and splashbacks. Thoughtful details – like cutlery inserts and custom drawer dividers – add a sense of quiet luxury.
A Franke sink and filter tap are positioned in the island, which also anchors the informal dining table. The pendant lights from Newport Lighting are purposefully hung at different heights to create a focal point above the island, aligned with the carefully designed lighting layout
