This two-bedroom top floor apartment in Tamboerskloof was in need of a kitchen remodel. As our client mainly lives abroad, we mostly worked remotely on this project with great success. The floor area had to remain the same to accommodate the existing living room furniture.

After removing the existing kitchen floor tiles and the dark brown parquet flooring, we installed new vinyl glue-down flooring on a new self-level screed. This created a seamless space and made the existing area look bigger.

All the appliances, including the washing machine and dishwasher, are integrated to ensure the matte petrol blue under-the-counter cabinetry by PG Bison remains uninterrupted. For the above-counter joinery, we chose a warm white matte finish.

To create a bespoke kitchen, we enjoy working with a range of materials. To add a classic touch, we used half-cup cabinet handles, as our client likes a modern classic style. The microwave insert features Niemann Yosemite board.

For the Apartment Swart kitchen, we chose a modern undermount Franke sink made from stainless steel, paired with a matching mixer. This combination offers timeless elegance and creates a seamless flow.

The kitchen island features a handy pull-out spice drawer and is topped with a 20mm stone from Atlas Quartz. It also includes a Bosch oven and a sleek black glass gas hob from Siemens, combining functionality with sleek modern design.
