New Bicolor Alape basins – two striking contrasts

The Alape stand at ISH was very memorable as this brand has successfully embraced design and technology to create beautiful timeless basins, mirrors and accessories.

A new range of basins from the German sanitary brand, Alape, pairs two contrasts of black/white with matt/glossy. This is likely to become an interesting new trend in the design of bathroom fittings.

In Bicolor the precision of the transition between the two colours emphasises the delicate properties of these round 3mm thick basins. Bicolor is available as a sit-on basin in two sizes, a sit-on bowl or as a free-standing washstand. The matt black exterior finish is also replicated in the spacer ring and wall bracket, while the clicker basin waste is in a white glaze. Thus every detail has been carefully considered, which makes this range one of our new favourites.

All Alape basins are manufactured from glazed steel which is light and at the same time very robust. The glaze is an extremely thin enamel surface which is applied and baked onto the steel body. This forms an inextricable connection and thereby creates a non-porous, hygienic surface that is scratch and wear resistant.

We are so excited to see the success of the design behind these basins. The extremely talented architect Dieter Siegler from Sieger Design and long-time Alape designer Gerhard Busalt created this unique range. Bicolor basins have been paired with Dornbracht Tara Logic mixers in a matt platinum finish and other Alape accessories such as the Assist shelf designed by Wolfgang Hartauer. It creates a beautiful collaboration and most of all an internationally trendy bathroom.
