For our latest commission – to design a luxury bathroom in a Constantia home – we were inspired by our visit to the Milan Furniture Fair, the Salone del Mobile.  In the vast bathroom exhibit, which shows in alternate years, many of the leading design houses have been using lacquered glass in a satin finish applied in various ways.

Colour lacquered glass combines the rich appearance of lacquer with the brilliance of glass and is particularly suited to demanding areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.

It has all the practical advantages of using glass – such as ease of maintenance – while also bringing in a soft opaque reflective quality which animates a room. The satin finish glass does not show fingerprints and is thus easy to work with. A high quality glass with an endless range of colours is available in South Africa.
