House De Villiers Stellenbosch is yet another incredible project for a client who we’ve had the privilege of working with for many years. Their new residence is set in beautiful surroundings and the existing property has been through a huge re-design with the help of TV 3 Architects.
High-quality joinery was a key focus of this project, with care given to creating personal spaces and incorporating special items from our clients. We also called in Newport Lighting to consult on all the lighting as this project required specialist attention.
We designed the kitchen, butler’s kitchen and scullery as well as the guest bathroom, two children’s bathrooms (created by splitting a second guest bathroom), a cloakroom and finally new master bedroom with bathroom and walk in wardrobe.
We designed the kitchen layout around the double volume barn-style open-plan living space. The central, balanced design we created works well in this space, as well as around the new long horizontal window. We used two shades of grey for the joinery, as well as a custom oak veneered finish for the overhead cupboards.
The internal storage features are from Kesseboehmer and the work tops in two finishes are from Vicostone. The appliances are from Siemens and Miele and we included a down-draft extractor for the island as we couldn’t incorporate a ceiling mounted extractor.
The butler’s kitchen design ties in well with the modern kitchen as the sink wall features a contemporary design with slick finishes, while the opposite wall incorporates an existing yellowwood table. We designed oak open shelving units to compliment the table and to incorporate the fridge.
Watch this space for our next De Villiers remodeling project at our clients beach-front holiday home in Arniston next year.
So pleased to share the below thank you email from our client:
We cannot thank Lisa and her team at Bespoke Bathrooms enough for their work on this project. We have been working with Lisa since 2008, initially in Higgovale, Franschhoek and Sydney followed by a second project in Franschhoek and finally the current projects in Stellenbosch and Arniston. The Stellenbosch project is the largest to date and she provided designs for the bathrooms and kitchen/scullery areas. As usual the results have been stunning and it is an absolute pleasure to work with her. She is a consummate professional and that ethic filters into all facets of the project. I do not hesitate to recommend Lisa and would not attempt any future project without her input and creativity!
