This project was a challenge as both the bathrooms we were called in to design are internal with no natural lighting and poor ventilation. The home is in a spectacular natural setting on the slopes of Hout Bay valley and we felt it important to try to bring in some natural light. The clients were happy to embrace an open plan bedroom-bathroom so that the views could be enjoyed from the bathroom.
In tune with the beautiful surrounding nature we specified eco-conscience products such as the Hansgrohe eco shower with thermostatic temperature control settings. LED lighting is another energy saver, used here in the mirror light and for the down lights which in addition offer a variety of mood and task lighting options.
All joinery was replaced with high quality bedroom joinery including a specially designed shoe cupboard, a low drawer unit at end of the bed and built-in cupboards.
