This luxury manor home is situated on an estate known for wine tastings and fine dining. Our clients were ready to renovate their bathrooms and wanted these spaces to reflect their personal style. The Benguela Cove cloakrooms form part of the living and entertainment areas, with the concept being to create memorable, fun spaces that work with the existing interior space.
The cloakroom near the kitchen has beautiful existing oak herringbone flooring, which became the starting point for selecting the wallpaper designed by Michael Chandler. Michael is passionate about our local history, and the character-filled oak flooring lent itself naturally to the Cape Willow design.
We wrapped the entire space in wallpaper, including the ceiling. A locally manufactured shelf by Douglas & Douglas was added, while a backlit, custom-made mirror creates interesting shadows and dimension.
The cloakroom near the bar again celebrates a local artist, Lucie Demoyencourt, who has a great passion for shells and has created a variety of designs and products. We added a Venetian-style mirror, which complements the wall sconce from Eichholtz.
The black-and-white checkered flooring was professionally cut into custom sizes to achieve the correct scale for the space and was completed by Bespoke Bathrooms.
For both Benguela Cove cloakrooms, we used wall-hung handwash basins from Duravit, paired with Meir taps in a selection of metallic finishes.
