The main en-suite bathroom of House Whitelock, a beautifully positioned home in Newlands, needed a makeover. Our client wanted their bath replaced with a shower and the bidet removed.

The space was rather limiting. We planned with this in mind, and introduced a double mirror sliding door from Fineline Solutions so that the door swing didn’t take up the space needed for two people to comfortably move around in. In smaller bathrooms, the custom made floor standing Jeeves heated towel rail works really well. It is UV bonded to the shower glass panel as a space saving solution.

We knew that a seamless basin unit and a beautiful and functional vanity would be well suited.  The basin slab was carefully designed and made up in a seamless resin composite material. The Duravit under shower toilet combined with the Geberit concealed cistern has an integrated water inlet so that it functions as a bidet. There is a separate cold water stop tap fitted to the wall so that no bidet tap is required and this becomes another space saving solution.

The new luxury shower has an over head ceiling rose, as well as a hand shower on a rail system. A novel addition is the fold down seat from Duravit. We finished off the toilet and window sill with Calacatta which is a composite stone from ProQuartz.

The marble tiles came as standard 600×600 size however we had this cut in half in order to make the flooring as non-slip as possible. The free standing accessories compliment the basin and are from Authentics from the Lunar product range. The gentle and soft blue of the vanity adds a soft layer of colour to House Whitelock’s beautiful bathroom.

So pleased to share the below thank you email from our client:

We were very happy with the bathroom renovations. It not only looks great but its now a pleasure to use the bathroom. We were not certain exactly what we wanted and it was great to talk it over with an expert. The timescale was vital to us and everything was completed on time, and as promised. Very minor problems that arose after completion were also dealt with timeously and I am very happy to recommend Lisa’s work.
