The House Sonemann family home in Claremont had a separate guest loo and family bathroom with a bath and no shower. The brief was to create a full bathroom with a shower as well as with a bath. The two seperate spaces also had different ceiling heights due to the existing roof structure.
We demolished the separating non load bearing wall and by changing the door entrance, we managed to create space for both a well sized shower and a beautiful free-standing bath. The new ceiling was kept at a maximum height and with the new LED seamless look downlights, the space is very inviting.
In terms of finishes; our clients like the warm feeling of timber so we worked with a knotted oak veneer contrasting with a slick porcelain slab basin from Duravit. The wall hung vanity is a custom piece using best quality soft close drawer runners by Hettich. The Antiguadec Gris floor tiles from Spain have beautiful geometric graphics that are perfect for a slightly vintage or rustic look.
The Essata free standing bath from Boutique Baths was the perfect size as it is small, yet still very comfortable for bathing. We included a Crestial hand shower for easy rinsing after bathing or washing feet or hair over the bath.
Storage is always a very important factor. We created as much integrated storage as possible for body products, by recessing into the double brick walls and edging these off with custom fabricated composite white stone ledges by ProQuartz.
The bespoke back lit LED round mirror light creates a softness in both shape and light when switched on. The free-standing accessories are from Authentics from the Kali range. These add a splash of colour and the final touch to this gorgeous bathroom at House Sonemann.
