House Canto is a modern home situated in Higgovale. Our client had been looking at various tiles and finishes for a while and was struggling to find ones that felt right. From this starting point the project grew into a complete remodel of the master bathroom and dressing room, the kids’ bathroom and bedroom cupboards, as well as new laminate flooring throughout the second floor.

For the design of the dressing room, we focused on maximising space for storage and included a comfortable and beautiful area to store smaller items. The mirror is well-placed to the dressing table and chair, creating a space entirely dedicated to personal care.

The pendent lights from Newport Lighting are purposefully grouped together at different lengths to create a cluster that reflects in the bespoke round mirror.

The main en-suite bathroom was originally open to the dressing room and our client wanted these spaces to be separated. We solved this by adding a barn-style sliding door with a glass insert, which allows natural light into the dressing room. The space was further extended by building a new wall into the dressing room and adding a freestanding bath. Positioned centrally under the window, the bath from Boutique Baths makes a great focal point. The taps from Hansgrohe were chosen to match the existing range in the ground-floor bathroom.

For both bathrooms we chose underslung basins from Villeroy and Boch which are fitted to slab vanity tops from Caesar Stone. The oak-look custom cabinets are made up using Niemann laminated boards. With a slim design, they still allow for extensive storage space. The wall-mounted WC pan and seat as well as the concealed cistern and actuator plate range are from Geberit.
