Situated in Vredehoek, this first floor apartment has a gorgeous view of Lion’s Head from the balcony.
Living in Johannesburg and wanting a full renovation to use the apartment for short-term rentals, our client needed a company that offered a full turnkey solution.
With the prevalent architecture style in the neighborhood being art deco, this was the starting point for the look and feel of the apartment. We curated a broad paint palette so guests would always feel comfortable and relaxed.
The concept was to create an eclectic homely feel with comfortable furnishings using great quality materials. Made from carefully selected leather, the occasional chairs are from Icanda Furniture. My favourite piece of art is South African artist Pierneef’s print which hangs above the sofa.
Along with furnishings, we also sourced bedding, cutlery, crockery and other homeware items – ensuring the apartment is fully equipped for guests.
With direct access to the sunny balcony, we installed interior decorating curtains from Melissa Kerkhoff in the master bedroom. The special artwork collection is made up of hand-picked pieces from antique shops and selected stores.
The guest bedroom has a well-sized work desk. The bedside table is from local manufacturer Pedersen + Lennard and the wall artworks are from various print suppliers.
To modernise the large balcony and create a greater flow between the indoor and outdoor areas, we re-tiled the balcony floor and added ceiling and wall lights.
